Montgomery County Sheriff's office deputies have arrested a suspect in a sexual assault that took place along Sawdust Road on Wednesday.
Deputies on Friday arrested 33-year-old Michael Demond Scott at his South Montgomery County apartment.
Scott was charged with two counts of sexual assault, according to a sheriff's office release.
At 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff's office deputies were dispatched to Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands Hospital in reference to an assault victim.
The victim, a 31-year-old woman, told deputies that around 5:30 a.m., she had been walking in a parking lot on Sawdust Road when a black male in a car asked her if she wanted a ride.
Since the weather was cold the victim accepted the offer.
The victim reported that the suspect drove to the Wal-Mart store on Sawdust Road and pulled into the parking lot and when she asked him to let her out he drove out of parking area and onto Sawdust Road where he went to a nearby apartment complex.
The victim said when she got out of the car and tried to leave the suspect struck her with his fist and took her behind a trash dumpster where he repeatedly hit her then sexually assaulted her.
Investigating detectives found that a patrol deputy had stopped a car in the area that met the description of both the suspect and the car that he had been driving.
The victim was able to identify the male driver as the suspect in the offense.
