Nancy Parsons, award winning graphic designer and fine artist, will be the featured artist at The Linda Watson Gallery art show entitled, “Hang 10, Plus 5” on Saturday, Nov. 14th from 6 - 9:00 p.m. The Linda Watson Gallery show, running through the month of Nov., will also include the work of other distinguished painters, photographers, and craft artists who will join her with representations of their recent work are Kerry Conklin, Otis Hillburn, Debi Sparks, Eric Peterson, Rosemary Massey, Carole Soare, Kathleen Rowland, Laura Stucky, Joe Kolb, Craig Campobella, Vicki Nash, Mark Clapham, Maggie Gutierrez, Jan Franzone, Jean Fleshner.
PARSONS is a fine artist and graphic designer with awards including the Award of Merit from International Design Conference (Aspen, Colorado), four Telstar Art Awards for Excellence in Communications, the Texas Alliance for Education Arts Award, and winner of the Texas Fine Art Association: Juried Texas Realism Competition her still life: London Still Life was selected by Tom Livesay (Director Dallas Museum of Art) for the T.F.A.A. State of Texas Tour. Her logo designs have become icons for many government and private industry entities, such as, the Greater Conroe / Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater Conroe Economic Development Council, Conroe Beautification Committee, Montgomery County logo, Montgomery County Performing Arts Society, M.C. Literary Arts Council, Conroe Regional Medical Center, Tomball Chamber of Commerce.
Private collections of her work may be found in Dallas, St. Croix, and Houston. Parsons’ education includes: SMU Edwin Cox School of Business certification, Watercolor with the distinguished artist, Perry House at the Glassell Museum of Fine Arts School (Houston), Commercial Art at Meremac College (St. Louis), Art & Literature at Metropolitan State College (Denver) and an Advertising Design degree from the Art Institute of Houston.
Though she employs diverse artistic styles from poignant realistic watercolors to large bold abstract oils, the Saturday show with cider and pie, will spotlight her Endangered Species Series, intimate prisma color portraits of some our earth’s most magnificent animals.
The Linda Watson Gallery is located on Main Street, two doors south of the Crighton Theatre and open daily Mon. – Fri. from 11:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays by appointment (832) 928-7150.
